Goals

Being a public health student, it is important to continue learning and update me with all the current status in public health. My belief about myself as a learner, I joined post-graduation in public health with full of positivity and enthusiasm. I had done plenty of practice in healthcare and found visual work well for me. I believe I'm more of a visual learner than an auditory learner as it is more effective and easier for me to retain power-point and onboard learning then only listen to a lecture. Earlier I prefer to work individually and thought that I'm good and like to work individually as I can do more individually but after entered in public health field it has been changed me when I got opportunities to work in a team. I feel good to work in a challenging environment. I used to ask questions when I don’t understand something and I always treat people with respect.
Recently I have completed a public health internship from the foundation of Healthcare Technologies and Society (FHTS) which was an amazing opportunity to work under Dr. Ashish Joshi sir, and with the entire team. Through this, I got the opportunity to work on the COVID-19 SMAART Rapid tracker, which helps me to build confidence in online portal work and helped me to develop data integrity skills. As I was least interested in health informatics but after this, I can say, yes this program develops interest me for health informatics. With the work on presentations of the public health system of other countries, it provides me a bundle of knowledge on other countries healthcare system. During this internship, assigned blog task helps me in building my skills in content writing and research of reliable information but the biggest hurdle in my internship was time management, due to working in health district as on data analysis of COVID-19 it was very difficult to pursue further but FHTS teamwork on public health, especially on health crisis motivate me to work and later these hurdles came as hidden strength which I discovered about myself as in time management in this internship duration. Overall I had a great experience with FHTS. The enthusiasm and dedication of each member of this organization towards improving community health and building a strong public health system motivate me to work hard and driven to pursue a career in public health.
In the coming time, I wish to learn how to design public health programs and health administration as it is one of my interest areas so it will be great learning for me. I also need to familiarize myself with the international standards of public health so that I can use those standards in practice. I am very excited to be in the next phase of positive learning and also I look forward to more learning and practicing in public health.

INSPIRE Virtual Experiential Learning Program - EVALUATION MATRIX

Testimonial

It has been such a great experience to work with FHTS as an intern during the COVID-19 pandemic. This virtual internship program has been introduced to me an entirely different perspective on public health. It has presented me with many opportunities to work on current public health areas. Thank you for being my first step towards a better future in public health.
Most importantly, this virtual internship has given me a better outlook into what I would want to pursue in the future.
