Goals

My name is Akshata Gupta and I have completed my MBBS from Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences, Indore (M.P.). Furthermore, I completed my internship from Gajara Raja Medical College, Gwalior (M.P.). After that, I started working in Global Speciality Hospital, Gwalior and also as a Medical Officer in Indian Red Cross Society, Gwalior Branch. In the Red Cross, I mainly worked in Blood Donation Camps. This work gave me a fresh perspective and I developed an interest in the field of Public Health. I realized that there is a need for creating awareness among the masses about the importance of blood donation and encourage as many people to donate blood. The masses need to understand the significance of public health. This is when I decided to pursue Master’s in Public Health.
I applied for Master’s in Public Health in UK and I received offers from many prestigious universities like Queen Mary University of London, Cardiff University, University of Southampton, University of Dundee, Birmingham University and few more. My plan for the next one year is to study in Public health in Queen Mary university of London. I will be pursuing Global Public Health and Policy from this university. I wish to gain knowledge and skills about the Global Public Health and become a professional in this field. I chose UK for my postgraduate education because it is one of the most progressive nations of the world with world class health care facilities, state of the art infrastructure and abundance of knowledge.
Once I have completed my Master’s from UK, in the next three years, I plan to either work in UK or continue with PhD. Graduates in this field get to work with various hospitals, NHS in UK and even WHO. I will be getting 2 – year Post Study Work Visa which will be very helpful as it will give me enough time to find a job prospects. This is an opportunity of lifetime and I wish to make the most of it while I am there.

INSPIRE Virtual Experiential Learning Program - EVALUATION MATRIX

Yes of course. The blog work I did help me build a team rapport. Working with various mentors of FHTS was very enlightening.

Making a PPT on SMAART RAPID Tracker was very useful as it helped me understand the data related to Covid-19.

Experience with INSPIRE Program

Testimonial

This was my first virtual Public Health Internship. My aim while starting the internship was to learn about data collection and data management which I was able to achieve. My experience with FHTS is certainly going to be an asset and a stepping stone towards starting my career in Public Health. The people of FHTS were really professional and it was an overall great learning experience. I would highly recommend others to join this internship and would like to thank FHTS for this opportunity.
