INSPIRE Intern

I, Aniruddha De worked as an engineer for about 3 years. Due to my father being in Ministry of External Affairs, I had the opportunity to travel and stay across different nations so I always sub consciously aware of the social issues in India, which needed huge area of improvement such as health, education, livelihood etc. Hence after working as an engineer, I am now currently pursuing Masters in Public Health from TISS Mumbai.

There are a lot of issues in the health sector which needs to be worked upon and its most pertinent sector which will never cease to exist and that is what made me embark upon a new journey, which will hopefully directly or indirectly make a small difference towards improving people’s lives.

Highest Education: B.Tech - NIT Durgapur (Deemed)

Date of Joining: June 1, 2020

Date Of Completion: June 30, 2020

Goals

Having worked as an engineer before choosing to enter the health sector, I was consciously very much aware of the health problems India was inflicted with and somewhere down the future I always wanted to wanted to work in the health sector, so that I could somewhat play a small role towards the betterment of the health sector, which would affect lives of so many individuals. Upon joining MPH from TISS Mumbai and having one completed 1st year, in the next coming year I hope to further garner and strengthen my knowledge on the foundations of health care along with keeping in my mind the social context of any health problem, which is very relevant for any health-based intervention. I would ensure to tackle any health intervention holistically and take into consideration multiple perspectives of various stake holders, including investors, health care providers, policy makers, various health institutions, health care seekers etc. I would ensure that the intervention would be adoptive to changes as things are laid out and would tweak itself according to external stimuli. This would enhance the efficacy of the health intervention in bringing about changes towards the intended cause. Having honed my skills I would like to see myself working in a health care firm which would give me the opportunity train myself and practically implement the skills keeping in my mind of the points I had mentioned above.
In the upcoming three years I see myself working in development of health policies in macro level that would be sustainable, strengthen the health systems and health structures of the nation and hopefully improve the health outcomes of the targeted respondent group. I also have an affinity towards working as a health researcher and hope to see myself working in development of community-based health interventions.
I also might consider in the future to opt for a Ph.D. program in case I feel there is any subject which has really peaked my interest.
