INSPIRE Intern

I am Poornendu Ranjan Chatterjee, and I am profoundly passionate about the global health sector and epidemiological research. I have always strived to uphold a positive trajectory of learning and growth in the said field to establish myself as potent healthcare professional. With the aid of online courses, internships, and volunteer experiences, I plan to reach my goal and help alleviate public health issues in fair capacities.

Highest Education: Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology - Vellore Institute of Technology

Date of Joining: January 21, 2022

Date Of Completion: June 20, 2022

Goals

In the next one year, I aspire to see myself studying at an esteemed institution and completing my Master’s degree in Public Health or any similar domain such as nutritional health, environmental health, or animal health. During my Master’s degree, I wish to gain proper experience and knowledge on health crises, immunology, host-pathogen interactions, development of medicines, and formulation of vaccines. Public health is a multidisciplinary field and it will open doors to a wide range of organizations for me, ranging from food safety, health policies, and vaccine evaluation to research work, genome editing, and genetic engineering. For this aspiration to be realized, I need to have proper knowledge of the field beforehand so that I can hand the selection committee a strong and worthy CV. I am confident that the practical experience I grasp from this internship at FHTS and the MSc Public Health programme which I will partake in the near future will help me become a potent healthcare worker and safeguard vulnerable populations.
In the long run, that is in the next three years, I wish to establish myself as a very competent working professional at a large organization that deals with issues related public, nutritional, animal, or environmental health, such as WHO, or even community-based local healthcare bodies and contribute to public and environmental health security, research, and management. Furthermore, I also wish to be able to help diseased and calamity-struck communities to be able to fend for themselves. Health emergencies are extremely unprecedented and I wish to be able to help health bodies formulate policies and device methods for protecting human health in such dire conditions.

INSPIRE Virtual Experiential Learning Program - EVALUATION MATRIX

My goals at the time of the internship were to find a very positive and collaborative environment wherein I could work together with people from the same field to bring about outcomes that could help me in my future career or educational undertakings.

The project helped me gain confidence in Data collection.

I would recommend INSPIRE program to others.

Testimonial

With FHTS, I was able to gain a much clearer perspective of how the data collection, management, and presentation is done for projects. I also enjoyed the discussion forums with Dr. Ashish Joshi a lot as they helped me gain knowledge on the topics posted since we had to do our own research for giving an informed answer in the forum.
