Goals

I had never thought of this till now but now that I have been asked to give a serious thought about it. I think in one year nothing significant is going to happen to me. But I know for sure that after one I will be more mature and my level of acceptance of the situation will improve, and significantly I see myself as a more consistent player of this wonderful game i.e. life. That was about my personal development. Professionally, I hope to get admission in a paid PhD programme, preferably somewhere in Europe. But, getting admission in University of Maastricht, The Netherlands for PhD programme would be a dream comes true. As this is the university where I first thought of doing a PhD and also decided the topic for it. The topic that I intend to do my PhD is related to the health drug policy of The Netherlands. A topic on which I am currently writing an article for the purpose of publishing and speaking of three years from now, I hope of completing my PhD and getting a stable job. I hope to get a job in a field of my liking i.e. health care economics field. I would like to settle down in Europe itself. I know that my dreams are a little difficult when it comes to practical life. But I think, if I truly put my mind towards it, I would be able to fulfill my aspirations and achieve my desired results. I think spending time in Maastricht University has made me more confident and made me believe that I too can do something with my life. Even though three years is not a significant time to analyze success, but, it’s a start nonetheless.

My internship at the FHTS was a fruitful experience for me. I learnt about the public health system of many countries. Apart from the scenario, I learnt about the factors that led to development of such policies / system. I also leant about the various assessment tools in healthcare sectors. I also was able to get acquainted with a surveillance system in SMAART Rapid tracker which could help me to develop such systems to keep track of any future pandemic. It was also a good experience to know about the steps taken by the governmental organizations. The tracker also had feature that helped me to asses the implications of the policies be it had beneficial or harmful to the people.
