Goals

I Dr Rohit Raj a Dentist, currently doing master of public health from Prasanna School of Public Health, Manipal University, Manipal Karnataka. Therefore to tell something about my future goals I want to briefly focus on my past, my hometown is in Deoghar Jharkhand, done my high school from Birla Vidyamandir Nainital, Uttrakhand, completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from NIMS Dental college Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Public health is a vast field with different group of society working together, I will be completing my degree in July 2021, but due to the current situation of pandemic I am little tensed about job perspective but firstly I will try my best to grab the position in government sector if not then I will try to get a job in private sectors. Side by side I will prepare to get enrolled in PhD programme may be distanced program. Practice makes a man perfect hence in three years I would like to see myself as a growing public health professional. I will try to work in top organisations like World Health Organization, United Nations Children’s Fund, United States Agency for International Development, Indian Council of Medical Research, Foundation of Health Technology and Society. In MPH I opted for Health Policy as a specialization hence I will prefer more to be a good policy analyst working for government sectors as well as for other private organisations and giving my contribution in designing policy and interventions.
In three years if I will be able to complete my PhD then I would prefer to teach the post graduation candidates in top public health universities of India.
These are some of my future goals and dreams to be covered. I have been always been an ambitious person when it comes to planning my goals for the future. For I believe that working without a goal or direction can never lead one to achieve something that they believe they can. So for me planning has always been useful when it comes to achieve something. When I introspect, where do I see myself in a year, I see myself completing my Master’s programme and getting employed in a health policy think tank, where I can learn new skills and incorporate what I learnt during my Masters programme specialization, so that I can gather experience and skills for my further step in life. And I also see myself having developed the qualities of persistence and patience, being financially independent and overall development of my skills in my career and also improvement of my overall personality. And in next three years, I see myself as being more experienced and being enrolled for PhD in Public policy in the desired university I want, and being the same person who is now more enthusiastic to learn new and also is being able to make a major impact in the lives of people through my work, I also see myself being a better person from before. But no doubt we can always face uncertainties sometimes, we can think of the situation right now of the pandemic it has changed many plans which each other and I think even in the face of uncertainty, there’s always an opportunity to learn from it and keep updating and improvising our plans for the future.

Experience with INSPIRE Program

Testimonial

Virtual Internship program from Foundation of health Technology and Society, New Delhi is one of the best and growing organisation in India. Their main focus on the internship program was to enhance the public speaking skills, writing skills and provide equitable work distribution among the interns with applicability, accountability and feasibility. An organisation is working on various projects with collaboration with ICMR and has very active and supportive team.
Therefore, I got the exposure of working with COVID-19 dashboard i.e. SMAART RapidTracker designed by the FHTS team itself. Hence this virtual internship program helped me a lot during this pandemic situation and added some extra cheese toppings on my curriculum vitae.
