Goals

At this point with a pandemic going on, it is difficult to foresee me in the next one year. But I will surely be completing my thesis and I would attain an MPH degree with good grades. I would want to do training in one of the government organization which works for the betterment of the tribal community in Kerala. I would also be completing my MA Psychology and perhaps be doing the compulsory internship as a part of the academics. As a student of Psychology, I would want to volunteer with the activities in an NGO working for the mentally challenged kids.
In the next 3 years, I see myself as a more ambitious and dedicated person. I will be taking on new challenges and break my limitations. The initial years will be purely dedicated to learning, building capacity, and then playing the role to the best of my abilities. I would like to see myself in the role of an epidemiologist or surveillance officer in one of the renowned organizations where I could learn new skills and gain more knowledge in various fields of work that will help me achieve my career goals. Also, I would like to research Post Traumatic Stress Disorders among victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse and most importantly the effect on children living in such vulnerable conditions so that I can come up with ideas and interventions that could make some difference in their lives. With a good duration of experience, I would want to go abroad and work in the field of global health and policy making probably in Australia, and also would have applied for Ph.D. there and hopefully will get into a good university. I am anxious to face new challenges and to spend three years is a substantial period in a career that I find very exciting and stimulating.
