Goals

I remember growing up and when someone would ask me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would smile, and without batting an eye, answer doctor. But nowadays, I may not be so self-assured when being questioned “How do I see myself in the next 1 year and in the next 3 years?” This is a hard question because no one can know the exact answer to it. I know that a lot of things can change through 1 or 3 years, but I know what future I want for myself.
From the early childhood, I had a dream of being Doctor, and as I grew older, I realised how important is to accomplish your goals for your personal satisfaction, therefore I went further to pursue my dreams of being doctor and got into the field of dentistry. My days as a dental student came across the public health arena during the 3rd year of my undergraduate public health postings which brought a shift in my view which broadened from dentistry to public health.
Currently I am a first-year student of MPH. So, the coming next year would be a crucial path maker for my career from "sitting in interviews to choosing where to do my internship and dissertation”. I see myself starting a new journey of my public health arena with the internship in CARE, Bihar where I am looking forward to acquire knowledge and skills required for real world situations in public health. Also, the next year, I will be investing my time to decide my dissertation topic and place to get deeper insights into my field.
For a fresher like me, the coming 3 years play a significant role. I see myself working in my area of interest in a good organisation where I can contribute to my full capabilities in the upcoming years. In return, I can see myself sharpening my skills. I can feed my knowledge with the experience. This experience can then be put to use into my future career path. Having said that, the 3 years can lay a solid foundation for my career.
However, education and career are not everything that I want to have in 3 years. I love travelling, so I want to travel somewhere with my own earned money and also desire to take my family on a vacation. Dancing has always been a great part of my life, so I see myself learning new forms of dance in coming 3 years.
I hope that the next 1 or 3 years will be very productive for me in personal, education, and career spheres. However, I clearly understand that my plans may change along the way.

Experience with INSPIRE Program

Testimonial

This was my first virtual internship experience and the experience turned out to be both valuable and helpful to me as a student and gave me the opportunity to work on my skills. Through this internship, I feel like rising above insecurities about my learning process. I got to learn about the data collection, data organization and data management. I certainly know more now than I did before starting my internship. In overall I can my whole experience was satisfactory.
