B.Sc. Cardiac Technology
I, Prabhu Dutta Shaw, completed B.Sc. Cardiac Technology from CMC, Vellore followed by one-year of compulsory Internship in the same organization.
Following which I worked for 1 year at St. Stephen’s Hospital, Tis Hazari, Delhi during which I came to learn about Public Health from one of my seniors from CMC. I became fascinated by the fact that Public Health deals with the preventive aspects of health and the interventions carried out are at the population level and not at an individual level. Therefore, in order to pursue a career in Public Health, I joined for MPH at Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), MAHE. By doing this Internship I want to learn how the Public Health Research work is being carried out regarding Informatics Applications to empower community well-being.
Highest Education: B.Sc. Cardiac Technology - The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University
Date of Joining: June 1, 2020

Making the videos helped me develop my personality. It helped me learn to express my thoughts very concisely and in a decent presentation.
Not only did I learn to gather information from valid source with the use of correct keywords but also to trim the data to write the blog post with adequate information.
Making a PowerPoint in 5 slides was not an easy task. I had to select which information I have to include and which to exclude. It also further increased my computer skills required to make the PowerPoint. I got to learn about the health system structure of different countries, disease burden, GDP in health care, demography, policies and advisories with respect to health system, various health innovation and analyzing current trends of COVID-19.
1. Analyzing graph and trend of the disease
2. Analyzing policies and advisories
3. Gained knowledge about labs and testing criteria in India
4. Analysis of diseases among top affected countries and among Indian states
5. Learned about COVID-19 status in the world• Enhanced my skills regarding reviewing and collection of information from various relevant sources
• Learned about Vancouver style referencing
• Acquired knowledge about reviewing from the country’s own guidelines and relevant resources.

Testimonial
Hello everyone! I am Prabhu Dutta Shaw, currently pursuing my Master of Public Health from Manipal Academy of Higher Education. I have completed one month of Virtual Internship at FHTS. It was a great learning experience for me. During my internship I got to learn about how to do trend analysis of COVID-19 in Indian as well as International settings and how the policies implemented by the government affected the spread of the disease.
The virtual Internship helped increase my confidence in public speaking as I presented multiple PowerPoint presentations in front of people from different parts of India. I would take this opportunity to thank Dr. Ashish Joshi Sir and the whole FHTS team for their valuable insights to help increase our knowledge. If given the chance I would love to work with FHTS again.
